How can I help my child in Reading?
The most important part of reading at home with your child is that the reading is easy and they feel successful. The last thing you want is to have a reluctant reader due to power struggles over reading. Students should be reading a book that is a "Good Fit." To the right you will find a suggested book list for a variety of reading levels. The reading at home hand out below has suggestions about what to do while reading with your child. You will also find video clips that show examples of what second grade reading skills look like in action. It is important to remember that every child is unique and will learn to read at their own pace! |
